那是在2004年雅典奥运会上，当时的兰赫和自己的队友卡洛斯-埃斯皮诺萨合作，在男子托纳多级多体船的比赛当中，为阿根廷赢下了一块铜牌。在2008年的北京奥运会上，他俩再次合作，又一次拿到了该项赛事的第三名。

可命运对于兰赫而言，不仅仅简单的将帆船带到了他的生命当中，它还为这段旅途蒙上了一层灰色面纱。; T. c% C& s& ]# D. w5 K$ ~

G, m! P% C5 o 2015年，在训练中一直倍感疲劳的兰赫突然被查出肺部癌细胞病变，幸亏发现及时，他在西班牙巴塞罗那市的一家医院接受了左肺切除手术。

# x+ e7 U( `$ M: H* Y. Z 在六个月的治疗过程当中，兰赫一直保持着一个乐观的心态。术后仅用5天，他就开始骑自行车训练，不到一个月的时间，他便奇迹般的重返了训练场。8 s' `9 i5 N+ w1 I

对于病痛的折磨，他始终抱着一颗虔诚感恩的心，他表示：“幸亏医生及时发现了癌细胞，如果不是我经常路途劳动让身体感到如此疲惫的话，还真不一定能这么早发现癌细胞，我觉得自己真的非常幸运。”5 X# c3 d$ W! y, b( e* w) H
