据销售员介绍，当天下午，小伙子在购买自己选好的几注大乐透号码之后，恰好还剩下10元零钱，就要她再机选5注。由于当时购买大乐透的彩民很多，销售员很快就把机选好的票打了出来。等小伙子拿到票之后，看了看，不悦地说：“这第一注大号太多了吧，还有个3连号，肯定很难中奖。你也不等我看一下就打出来……”销售员也赶快道歉：“不好意思，人比较多，票打快了。要不这张票你给我。我再另外给你机选5注。”小伙子想了想，把票递给销售员，就在销售员要另外再打票的时候，他又说，“算了，还是给我吧，也不用你麻烦了，不然到时候你还要赔10元。”
