在8月1日开奖的10088期中，双色球即迎来8月“开门红”，中出14注单注奖金达566万多元的一等奖，其中陕西一彩民以4倍投注中得2266万多元巨奖；仅隔两期，在10091期中，双色球再次迎来头奖井喷，当期中出10注一等奖，在“523”派彩的利好下，单注奖金仍达到了660万多元；随后的10092期，双色球更是爆出55注505万多元的一等奖，其中上海一人凭着5注10倍“6+2”复式中得55注一等奖、55注二等奖，总奖金达到2.59亿多元，成为天朝彩票历史上二大奖；接下来的10093期、10094期，双色球先后中出10注、11注500万元头奖，其中广东深圳一彩民在10094期将一组“7+1”复式连打5倍揽得2509万多元奖金，创下今年以来广东彩民的最高中奖纪录；10096期，16注500万元头奖再次喷薄而出，一位沈阳的彩民凭着5倍投注的“6+3”小复式狂揽5金10银，狂揽2662万多元奖金，创下辽宁省的个人最高中奖纪录；随后经过3期的休养生息，双色球奖池迅速重上1亿元关口，结果于今年10100期向彩民欢送13注555万多元的加料头奖。
