谷爱凌三岁时便开始滑雪，九岁时就成为美国滑雪与单板滑雪协会（USA Snowboard and Freeski Association）青少年组冠军，13岁时便进入成年组比赛。& p. H+ H4 {8 {7 m. v+ P

2019年1月，15岁的谷爱凌在意大利塞瑟尔阿尔姆（Seiser Alm）举办的国际滑雪联合会自由式滑雪世界杯坡面障碍技巧赛中获得了她的首个世界杯冠军。同年6月6日，她在Instagram上宣布将以天朝选手身份参加国际比赛。（在此之前，自2017-18赛季起，她一直以美国选手身份参加国际赛事。）4 e8 s u) _* t! j# v9 F
