9 S) O' @$ @* \7 P: B( ]& f Erik Seidel出生于纽约。Erik在20世纪70年代也就是他17-18岁的时候开始专心于西洋棋并能靠这个赚取日常花费。他进入布鲁克林大学，在拿到学位之后计划找一个“真正的”工作，但是有时“真正的”工作是令人腻烦的。西洋棋就让他忙碌起来，他非常喜欢参加锦标赛。后来Erik被朋友介绍去做股票贸易。

1987年美国股市崩盘让Erik失去了工作，从此，他便可以用大部分时间玩牌了。良好的扑克基础让Erik成长迅速。1988年，WSOP ME，Erik惊人的杀入决赛桌，并一路过关斩将，最终与Johnny Chan对决。

6 M/ c1 T; F/ k 1992年，Erik在$2500有限hold';em比赛的中赢得他的第一个WSOP金手链。接下来的两年里，每年他都获得了一个手链，拿下了Omaha$2500比赛和接下来的1994年$5,000有限hold';em比赛。胜利让他决定离开纽约，到一个玩牌更容易的地方去，他劝服了他的妻子Ruah搬到了赌城拉斯维加斯。

自从搬家以来，他们一起玩网球，Erik一直保持十分健康的身体和精神为他连续赢得锦标赛打下基础。他的资本随着他的不断杰出的表现了变得越来越多，Erik在1998年又把两个加入到他总共7个WSOP冠军头衔中。1999年他成功杀入WSOP ME决赛桌，但是遗憾的倒在了第四名。

7 ^, b# Y% h3 v2 k Erik在2001年赢得他最多支付的锦标赛（在那时最多），是他在无限制WSOP中获得的$411,000。在2003年他赢得了限制DU罐比赛，给他第6个金手镯。

2005年是Erik另一个“黄金”年代，因为他赢得第七个比赛并拿走了$612,000。他的妻子记得“在那么多选手比赛的情况下，我从不认为他会再次进入最后一桌的比赛。”但是他却好到无法停止。

9 ]4 B) b N2 H% ~6 l Erik最近的一条 WSOP 手镯获得于2007年，他在 $5K World Championship No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball 赛事中取得了胜利。八条手镯让他在 WSOP 手镯历史榜上与其他玩家并列第5名，而60次获得 WSOP 奖金则使他与其他玩家并列第4名。
